Background

Notified was hosting the Callaway Golf website already. At the time, I was working on the sustainability pages. The Callaway management team asked our design team to rebrand and launch the entire site in a month to a new brand name called Topgolf Callaway Brands. To do this, I worked together with the project manager, the front-end developer, and the design team manager.

Challenge

How to make a design and launch a new website for America's most popular premium golf equipment and active lifestyle company in a month?
The challenge was definitely time, so the fastest way to think about this project was to reuse the same code structure for the new site, reuse element styles from the previous site, rethink the navigation, content structure, brand message in the hero section, rebrand the main UI to a new brand.

Kick-off to refine business requirements

After meeting with the client and proposing the fastest solution to use the same structure as before, we agreed that this was the way to move forward.

Interactive banner

The main message was different words, so the solution was to add animation of the changing words.

Visual Design

After all the discussions and planning of what should be on which page, I came up with some visuals. It was several stages of editing, but we agreed on the final version with the client. I prepared the files for the front-end developer. After that, the site was checked by quality specialists to meet all accessibility and other requirements.

Outcome

After all the previous steps, the site was successfully launched on time. The client was delighted with the team's tremendous efforts to meet their business requirements.

Learnings

  • You have to make a trade-off: some parts of the design looked different than I planned, but the website was launched on time.
